We are very excited to announce that Director of the Royal College of Music, Colin Lawson will be launching this year's festival. Our Launch Concert features quintessential Arnold brass works.

Alina Orchestra

Lead by conductor, Hillary Davan Wetton, the newly founded Alina Orchestra present an excellent concert of Arnold's smaller-scale orchestral works such as his Horn Concerto and Variations on a Ukrainian Folk Song

After last year's popular, Arnold for 2 concert we return with an exploration of Arnold's works for 3 instruments. Lead by flautist, Jenny Dyson, this concert features some of Arnold's most exquisite chamber works.

Orchestral concert
7:30pm St. Matthew's Church
Conductor, John Gibbons and the Northampton Symphony Orchestra presents a delightful evening of Arnold's dynamic orchestral works from his Viola Concerto to Sound Barrier. As well as works by Berlioz and Ruth Gipps.
Malcolm and Gordon Jacob
2:00pm Malcolm Arnold Academy
A talk on the relationship of Malcolm Arnold and his composition teacher, Gordon Jacob. This talk will feature works from both composers.
Sunday 18th

Working with Malcolm
11:00am Malcolm Arnold Academy
A talk presented by clarinetist, Janet Hilton. Janet worked with Malcolm during her recording of the first clarinet concerto and also his late Wind Octet.
Flute Recital
4:00pm Royal & Derngate
A brilliant insight into Arnold's writing for the flute given by the award-winning flautist, Emma Halnan.
